the damned cat

what's the deal with scratching the furniture? he knows he's just ruining it for everybod; i mean- you don't see me messing up his things.. that kitty bed is all his. that spot behind the toilet? I leave it alone! my cat doesn't need a myspace account because he has plenty of space all his own, and he doesn't have to wait on_line to get there!

and whats the deal with being on_line? why would I want to be on line all the time? most people hate being on lines.. now we get to be on line at home in the middle of the night, at work all day long while we should probably be working..what a scam! we pay companies money to do something we don't even want t do!

Throwin on Rockin' Robin By Bobby Day. Man the old music just does somethin special. I don't knw what it is...

amped!!!

I'd say 10% of the time I feel just right. and another 10% just awful.

About 40% of the time I feel like I'm moving just a wee slower than everyone else, that I'm working just a little harder to keep up. Those are the despairing days, for sure.

The other 40% I have to spend serious focus slowing everything down because I'm just flyin! That's today, for sure. I'm running all over the place already– I can tell that I'm going to start every movement like a gymnast's floor routine.. up on the toes, start falling forward and just freaking RUN! Think I'll skip the arm-salute, though.. what was that called again?

Does anyone else set up the coffee the night before and just click it on as soon as you get up? I've been doing that- It's working really well.. fresh water, turn on the stove, feed the animal, then pee (don't wanna waste even a little brew time). Forget those little espresso cups, gonna drink most of the pot anyway. It's all going in that big ol cup.. let it cool a bit and down it, down it, down it! kiieargh.. Guinness o' the mornin.

I have that Manu Chao beat dancing in my bones right now, and I just can't sit still, but I bet it's the caffiene too. Quick, staccato shuffle.. bright and bouncy, with softened edges... haven't heard that in awhile.. would anyone be interested in trading tapes/records?

adventures on the waterfront

First off, I'm not going to provide a continuum-update from my last post to here. If you ain't in, why would you care? I have to pee.

I had this weird experience yesterday. I wasn't sure if I was just being paranoid, or almost victim to a horrible crime...

I was tooling around on my bike, when I came across a marina at the west end of Dyckman St on the hudson.. more of a dirt-path really, so I followed it awhile to see where it went. I passed a couple of people exploring some others fishing. it was pretty wilderness-type, which is weird for this isle. It was on a small stretch of ground between a fence (keeping me off the train tracks) and the water. Some person had erected a plywood shanty right on the water's edge and was obviously living in there- the sound of something sizzling was coming out, as well as the smell of freshly fried fish. So I followed it nearly a mile and it just about ended- and as I'm turning around to go back this dude comes up behind me (I hadn't seen him before)and starts to hop over this broken part of the fence, and says to me "are you going to the bridge" (the gwb was pretty close by there and that was indeed the direction of my house) so I said I was thinking about it. he says ' if you want to walk your bike' (because the gravel was way too coarse to ride on) 'I can show you the way, it's only 500 feet, just around the corner'
he goes on to say there's another hole in the fence, cross the tracks and round the bend and he'll show me where it is. So I haul over the broken fence and start walking with him, but I immediately slowed down. My neuroti-sense (like a spidey-sense but different- more like I can hear my mom whining in the back of my head) starts going off and I say y'know, I'm just going to go the long way around' and I jet. he didn't say anything, but he was waay ahead of me anyway- like 100 feet! So I doubled back and that was it. but I'm tellin you I was a little nervous about crossing train tracks in some place where nobody goes with some weird stranger, yknow?
